Arduino Day 2014
Arduino Day at the BrandBarn in Woodstock was part of a worldwide event bringing the arduino community together. After a slowish start the event generated quite a vibe and all too soon we were reminded that the event ended at 14h00, leaving just enough time to swap contact details. It was the perfect forum for newbies like myself to ask questions and to see what projects people are doing locally with arduino. In attendance were people form the electronics and coding communities but no one that I could tell from the art/design sector. A great effort was made by the guys setting up their projects and talking us through some of the challenges. Some cool things are being done using gps, Wii nunchuk, leap and remote control helicopter. The young minds were asking big questions and I am sure some of the Dad's were relieved that there were people on hand to help answer them. Time to get my Arduino UNO out of the box and start making!
